What a good book.

Today is a rainy day. Rainy days make me want to curl up with a book. Hence, I went to Barnes and Noble (ahh! i love that place WAY to much!!) and picked up a copy of Kelly Cutrone's book, If You Have To Cry Go Outside and Other Things Your Mother Never Told You. I just started- I'm through the first chapter. It's a wonderful insiders look into the fashion industry. It's refreshing to hear that you can get anywhere if you choose to put your mind to it. Being from the midwest, I have high hopes of making it in the fashion industry. THANK GOD for stories like Kelly's that inspire me to keep up the dreamin. ;o)

I think it's going to rain.

Rain By Shel Silverstein

I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.

I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand--
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said--
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.

What a steal!!

Finally found my coveted boxed clutch!! What more could a girl ask for? haha

THE GLORIOUS BOXED CLUTCH

For those of you who have seen the Alexander McQueen boxed clutch would agree that this is THE handbag to covet. It is truly a work of art. A bit rebellious with the skull details- this clutch would make any prim and proper outfit edgy.

Since seeing these beautiful clutches... it's been my MISSION to find a less expensive clutch inspired by this look...

So, at Marshall's a few weeks ago... I FOUND IT!!

Although it's missing the skull detailing- it's still perfect... a beautiful blend of white, grey, and black with silver metal edging and closure- at a meager $16.99 I'd say it's my lucky steal.

Pictures up soon of my new clutch!

Tereza and Thomas

As summer comes near (it's finally warming up- feeling the sun kiss my face.. the smell of green grass.. blooming flowers..) and the resort collections are being purchased I can't help but to hum the lyrics of this beautiful song....

Tereza and Thomas Lyrics- Bright Eyes

let’s sail away past the noise of the bay
let’s sail away past the birth and death of the day
let’s sail away to where the blues and greens swirl into gray
let’s sail away
let’s sail away past the cradle of these waves
let’s sail away past the tide and its slow decay
let’s sail away to where the water goes-some endless open space
let’s sail away
take only what you need, my love, and leave the rest behind
don’t be afraid of where we’ll go, my love
i promise you will be fine
now you are the only one thats mine
let’s sail away past the reflections of the light
let’s sail away floating weightless through the night
let’s sail away like a photograph, fading to all white
it’s finally all right
forget all the mistakes my love
they won’t be made again
leave the photos in the drawer, my love
we no longer need them
we both know where we’ve been
let’s sail away disappearing in a mist
let’s sail away with a whisper and a kiss
or vanish from a road somewhere, like tereza and tomas,
suspended in this bliss.

These looks are from Emilio Pucci's Resort 2010 Collection.

It was to die for to say at the very least. It was nautical- but in an unconventional sort of way. I loved the use of classic black and white with touches of blue. It wasn't your typical navy, white, and red sailor attire.

Pucci hit the mark with this resort collection- a modern twist on the nautical world traveler- Cheers!
